Here we are at Day 2-3 2.8 lbs down

So a bit of background first- this is my second stage of weight loss.

The first stage saw me go from 230lbs to 185. After hanging on the back of the wagon a bit, I've decided to hop back on and get this final stage done.

My goal weight is 130lbs. I haven't been there since age 12 even after getting down to 140lbs from 183 with Weight Watchers when I was 15.

I have several tools I'm using.

1- Jorge Cruise's Belly Fat Cure Plan (see notes below)
2- Tracking on myfitnesspal.com and Sparkpeople.com, these are both free tools and excellent resources
3- Elliptical trainer (20-30 mins a minimum of 4 times per week)

Notes on the Belly Fat Cure:

I don't think following the recipes exactly would be entirely healthy. If you look at the menus on Jorge's site, they are much better and healthier (more veggies, less fat).

The principle of the book is 15 grams of sugar per day and 120 carbs. That's reasonable and healthy! Jorge's point is that there is hidden sugar in everything (and there is, pretty much everything low fat is higher in sugar).

What I took away from the book is, less sugar, less carbs, more protein (keeps you full), lots of water, and fiber. He's not leaving anything out food wise, so people are more likely to stay on it and do well than a diet like south beach that's much more restrictive.

What I've been doing is working in the constraints of the 15 grams of sugar and 120 carbohydrates and it's working great for me.

So here's what breakfast looked like on day 2:

-2 eggs
-1 Whole Wheat English Muffin
-1 melted cheese stick and taco seasoning
-1 Sausage Round

Totals: 469 Calories, 27 fat, 28 protein, 3 fiber, 4 sugar.

I will cut the fat down next time, but the protein and fiber counts are enough that I am not hungry.

20 Minutes on the Elliptical today. Not going too crazy with the exercise until I get the diet under control.

I have been eating healthy for a long time now, however the holidays I just went crazy (after finding a really good sugar cookie recipe!)

I really have to watch my sugar. It effects my mood, my cravings, I'm tired and headachy a lot!

So, onto day 3. I've lost 2.8 lbs so far. I know I will lose a lot initially as my body is used to all the Christmas food, but I'm ok with that ;)

Stats:
Day 1: 190.4
Day 2: 189.4 (-1 lb)
Day 3: 187.6 (-2.8 lb)
